E-PING - European Parliamentarians Internet Group
EPING - (European Parliamentarians Internet Group) - provides a valuable and necessary two way dialogue between European Parliamentarians (and other EU officials) and the Internet/telecoms industry. This is vital in ensuring that new regulations are sensible and that MEPs have enough understanding of the new technology to make key decisions affecting the EU's IT industry. EPING is open, democratic and transparent. It offers opportunities importantly for people to meet face to face (rather than virtually). At the first meeting in Strasbourg (next one in Brussels) over 100 people attended including over 20 MEPs, EU officials and the Info Society Commission Erkki Liikanen.
