The International Aid charity, Concern, works to eliminate extreme poverty in the least developed countries. The website provides Concern with an unparalleled global communications tool, and a means to raise public awareness and donations.
The Concern site reflects the diversity of their activities and appeals to a wide range of audiences, locally, nationally and internationally, as well as their own field staff and potential donors. They also have a parallel site for providing crisis and development information to local schools and to support the annual Concern schools debating competition.
Main functions include databases, notice boards, news, content management and secure payment systems. The site has been enchanced over the last two years with various features including the very popular Concern School Debate.
The web site has generated a significant number of emails, with visits also having steadily increased since the site launched, confirming that Concern’s profile has increased as a direct result of the web site.
The Youth and Schools section is proving a very popular addition and is helping to raise awareness of global issues among today's wired youth.
