At the very least, the volunteers have raised the vital question of the exct role of an MP - what is their job? To prance around westminster, sliming their way up the greasy ministerial pole? This service is fantastic. It will identify your MP for you just by your typing in a postcode and provide links to their e-mail address and website, plus links to their speeches in parliament. However the real greatness of the site is that it allows you to type in a letter to your MP and they fax it to them on your behalf. It costs you nothing and the fax arrives almost immediately. I used the service and got a reply from my MP a couple of days later. With internet access now available in libraries, this website genuinely is a brilliant way for everybody, but especially poorer and disenfranchised members of society to find out who their MP is, information on that MP, and to get in touch with them speedily without needing a fax machine or even the price of a stamp.
